The season long 2011 Race to Dubai is a prestigious reward for the winner of the $7,500,000 season-long European Tour schedule. The actual winner of the Race to Dubai will be presented with the The Harry Vardon Trophy and a cheque for $1,500,000 at the Dubai World Championship at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on December 8th-11th.
2010 saw Martin Kymer win the Race to Dubai just ahead of Graeme McDowell and Lee Westwood in 3rd although Robert Karlsson beat Ian Poulter to win the final tournament to win the Dubai World Championship in a play off.
The Dubai World Championship is played over four days, with no cut, all 60 players will compete for the title that has captured the imagination of the leading players in the world golf.
The players will tee off on the spectacular Earth course. Designed by Greg Norman, Earth is one of two courses, along with Fire, that anchor the neighbourhoods in Jumeirah Golf Estates. |
