After a successful 38 years at the famous Al Awir
ground, the award-winning event has moved to 'The
Sevens', Emirates' purpose built sporting venue.
The venue, which includes six rugby pitches and
will host the annual Emirates
Airline Dubai Sevens in November is set to become the Middle East's new
home of rugby.
The venue will hold over 40,000 fans, up an extra
10,000 from its previous capacity at the Dubai
Exiles Rugby Club, yet will hang tight to what has seen
the Dubai Sevens grow into one of the most unique
and loved sporting events in the world.
Featuring 16 of the best Sevens nations in the world,
the Dubai Sevens has grown into a magical event that
not only attracts fans from around the globe but
offers some of the best action – both on and
off the pitch - anywhere on the planet. Away from
the white-hot atmosphere of the international matches,
competitions featuring International Invitation,
Gulf, Local Social, Ladies, Veterans, and YCentral
to everything will be the main pitch which will be
transformed into the ultimate sporting arena with
a free-standing stadium built around a permanent
4,000 seat grandstand set to accommodate the world's
most passionate rugby fans.
In total, over 100,000 fans are expected to come
through the gates when the rugby carnival rolls into
town from November 26th – 28th to kick-start
the beginning of the IRB Sevens
World Series and
to complete the rugby extravaganza, the hugely popular
'Rugby Rock' concert will be held on the final night
of the event to bring to a close the region's biggest
party and sporting spectacle.
A traditional Arabian welcome awaits all our friends
from across the world so don't miss being a part
of something you won't ever forget!
